Dysport is one of the neuromodulators offered at Lennox Aesthetics. We carry a variety of options to accommodate our patient’s preferences and because each individual may respond differently to the various formulations.
Like all of the neuromodulators, Dysport works by blocking the signals that nerves send to muscles, which can temporarily weaken or relax the muscles that cause wrinkles, leading to a smoother, more youthful appearance. The effects of Dysport typically last for several months, after which the treatment may need to be repeated to maintain the results.
Dysport and Botox are both injectable cosmetic treatments that contain botulinum toxin type A and work in a similar way. One of the main differences is the way the active ingredient is formulated. Dysport is formulated with smaller molecules, which means that it may spread out more and diffuse further from the injection site compared to Botox. It is important that your clinician understand the unique properties of each neuromodulator to give you the best results.
Another difference is the onset and duration of the treatment. Dysport is said to have a slightly quicker onset than Botox, which means that patients may see results within two to five days of the injection.
